The Brown County Beekeepers Association will meet May 14 at Western Brown High School’s Community Room located on the western side of the school across from the tennis courts.
At 6 p.m. members will be available to answer questions and share information on beekeeping. The educational program will begin at 7 p.m. followed by our business meeting.
The educational program will be presented by Tony West, owner and operator of Appalachian Heirloom Plant Farm and Apiary. Tony has a wide variety of programs on YouTube, where he focuses on giving information on basic beekeeping, equipment use and product reviews. Most of his videos are aimed at newer or smaller beekeepers.
Tony will be discussing the Demaree Method of bee swarm control. This method not only prevents swarming, but will also help to increase your honey production.
